GSA Project Manager

Duty Description: Technical leader responsible for the day to day oversight and development of a single application or a single group of small applications. Responsible for keeping abreast of current web application development technology and ensures the project team is properly staffed and trained to accomplish the web development project. Attends project leader meetings and consults on the design of the application. Reports on progress, obstacles encountered and solution alternatives. Interfaces with other project managers and government representatives for technical requirements, project review and status updates. Spends approximately 75% or more of the time developing the application.

Qualifications: Education: Technical 4-year degree in computer science, engineering, or information technology. Master's degree desirable, or equivalent work experience (2 years development, with at least 1 year as lead developer).

Software Development Experience: Three years, including 1 year in web-based applications, or equivalent college or post-graduate coursework. Experience in web application development environments such as Active Server Pages, Cold Fusion and/or Java totaling at least two years.

Database Experience: Oracle, SQL-Server or equivalent enterprise database totaling two years. Database administration experience desirable, or college coursework in data modeling and/or data structures.

Communications Experience: Strong communications skills including verbal and written skills for presentations to department-sized audiences. English composition and technical writing college coursework. Ability to teach group-level technical courses.
