Case Study: US NAVY - Naval Sea Logistics Center

Business Problem:
The NavSea Logistics Center relied heavily on a stand-alone Automated Training Management System (ATMS) application using an Oracle database. This system was functional, yet they wanted a web-based version that would allow the Naval Shipyards to avoid installing a stand-alone application on every workstation, and also to provide secure access from off-site, all while sharing the same database of instructors, students, and courses.

Solution:
ACI is completely recreating the program with the same look and functionality as the existing program using Macromedia Flash MX, ColdFusion MX, and Dreamweaver MX. The new system integrates with their new database design and is fully web-based, while mimicking the stand-alone program eliminates the learning curve downtime usually created by a new system.

In addition, the original request was for a total of four developers for the project. Two ACI developers are able to perform all of the work required, thus saving significant federal funds.
